CAN FOREST BATHING REALLY HELP WITH MENTAL HEALTH?
Ciao!
You all know how much I love nature and especially walking in the woods. Have you ever heard of forest therapy? Let me introduce you to it.
This practice originated in Japan 40 years ago, where it is known as Shinrin-Yoku (translates as "bathing in the atmosphere of the forest"). In the 1980s the Japanese government carried out extensive scientific research which found that a 2 hour forest therapy session could reduce high blood pressure, lower cortisol levels (the stress hormone ) and improve concentration and memory.
The session I had with Sonya last Saturday was a very emotional healing session and a strong way to turn off the chatter in my mind. I have found forest therapy to share a lot of the Biophilic principles I apply in my interior designs. So, please have a read at what Sonya has to say about forest bathing.

Interior designers have several sources of inspiration when working on a space for clients. My main inspiration for colour schemes is abstract paintings. I love vibrant, bold colour, like the artwork by Wassily Kandinsky.
